Nearing completion at the Gisan Shipyard, Turkey, is the second of a new vessel class of LOA 72 m and 2,600 dwt tanker that deserves attention for several of its features. Designed by Delta Marine and classified by Bureau Veritas as type: IMO II, the Ice Class double-hull product and chemical tanker has a twin screw propulsion arrangement that is quite unusual for a vessel of this size. Unusual for this size of ship, is a redundant propulsion system consisting of two four-stroke diesel engines and two fixed-pitch propellers, enabling the ship to continue her course if one of the propulsion systems breaks down.
