Convertible automobiles have been around since the first days of motoring. The task of erecting a hood is fully automated in cars - for the first time, such a luxury is offered on the Hi-tech Marine 38' - Oronero tender, presented during last month’s Monaco Boat Show. The design is by Alex Pirard Yacht Design, Spain and is built by Hi-Tech Marin - Carbon Dream S.p.A., Italy a leading carbon fiber constructor. The hood is actually a folding hard top which retracts into a locker in the stern. A further feature is a folding platform that extends to ease boarding or leaving in a safe manner. The 12 tons craft has an LOA of 39.4 ft (12 m), a hybrid propulsion system comprises a Steyr 280 hp diesel with alternative electric drive. [More]
